Jubilee Campus

Opened in September 1999 by Her Majesty the Queen, the Jubilee Campus houses the Schools of Computer Science, Contemporary Chinese Studies, Education and the Business School. The International Office is also based here and offers a range of services for overseas students.
Just over two miles from the city centre, the campus offers cutting-edge technology and modern facilities including on-site accommodation for 750 students, restaurants, and a library and computing centre. A free and frequent bus service links the Jubilee and University Park Campuses.
The environmentally-friendly nature of the campus has earned the University numerous awards. It sits around a series of man-made lakes which provide cooling water in the summer, and buildings feature a super-efficient mechanical ventilation system, lighting sensors to reduce energy consumption, and photovoltaic cells which convert sunlight into electricity.
Significant phased development is planned for the Jubilee Campus and the first phase of an innovation and research park opened in 2008.
The same year also saw the completion of Aspire, a 60-metre sculpture designed by acclaimed architect Ken Shuttleworth, which was built to evoke the spirit of ambition, achievement and aspiration.
