Resources and facilities
Leading-edge IT & information services
At Nottingham, you will have access to the latest technology. PCs are provided at locations throughout the University (most are in computer rooms and accessible 24 hours a day) and students are able to borrow laptops through loan services offered by the University's libraries. Increasingly, you can also use personal equipment such as laptops, handheld devices and MP3 players via wireless technology installed across our campuses.
Our intranet portal provides personalised online services and access to information and learning resources for all students. We provide comprehensive support, including service points at all libraries and a Student IT Helpline.
Students living in halls have access to a free-to-view television service and an internet telephone service is available in study bedrooms.
Get connected
Nottingham students are able to access the University network - and therefore the internet - through wireless and plug-in points across the campuses. Just look for the logo!
Reading resources
The University now has some of the most technologically advanced flexible learning facilities in Europe, provided through the new Learning Hubs developed at four of our main libraries. These offer students and researchers a useful mix of traditional and modern learning and information resources and services.
Our libraries provide access to over one million books and journals and more than three million manuscripts. We also have over 12,000 e-journal titles and 650,000 e-book items available. These resources are available at 14 libraries across our UK and international campuses, including specialist libraries for specific subjects.
Our largest library is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week for most of term-time. Five other libraries across campus are open round-the-clock seven days a week during exam periods.
