“If you immerse yourself in as much as possible and make the effort to meet as many people as you can, you won’t be disappointed.”

Robin Lapish

Course: BA Management Studies (third year)

“The University has an excellent standing and I was particularly drawn by the fact that the Business School has a first-class reputation and that employers regard their graduates very highly. What attracted me to my course was the breadth across all commercial functions and fields of management. This has enabled me to tailor my degree from the wide range of modules offered across all areas of business, from finance and accounting to marketing, HR, economics and strategy. I have also benefited from
branching out from these core themes into areas such as operations, risk management, law, tourism and technology, as well as some international modules.

In my spare time, I have become heavily involved with Students in Free Enterprise which aims to deliver economic opportunities to all through a host of regional, national and international projects. They are four-times UK winners of an annual competition and world semi-finalists and it has been great to be a part of such a successful team.

The facilities on Jubilee Campus are everything you’d want them to be with ample computer labs and work stations in the Business School and its libraries. The School’s online system is a fantastic resource that houses information on all modules, and includes forums, podcasts, videos and links to articles and lecture materials so you always have access to them.

The Business School’s Employer Programme is excellent, with top multinational firms coming in every week to run workshops, presentations and skills sessions. The Centre for Career Development also helped me secure a summer internship in marketing.

I have also had an immense amount of fun with the likes of the Skydiving Society and Pirate Society – particularly the many socials! And living in a catered hall proved a decision I did not regret as the strong sense of community meant it was like gaining a big family.”
